As part of our schools project we asked local children to design an EcoWarrior. We will use the character in our newsletter and on the website to keep people informed about what we are doing around energy efficiency and protecting the environment.
Lots of young people sent in their imaginative designs and two lucky children were chosen as the winners.
Chloe Bridge from Benfieldside Primary and Bethany Jade Barnett from Catchgate Primary School will see their designs used as the Eco mascot for Derwentside Homes.
They both won Nintendo Wii’s for their schools and £50 gift vouchers for themselves. Runners up in the competition were Peter Cox from Benfieldside Primary School and Amy Louise Foreman from Catchgate Primary School.
