Derwentside Homes' tenants invited to have their say

Derwentside Homes is inviting all tenants to this year’s annual conference which focuses on ‘Raising Standards, Improving Lives’.

The free event will take place on Wednesday, July 21 at the Lamplights Arts Theatre in Stanley and tenants can ‘drop-in’ anytime between 1.00pm and 7.00pm.

The conference is expected to attract hundreds of tenants and experts will be on hand to offer top tips and guidance about DIY, health & safety and how to apply for a home. There will also be a demonstration of assembling flat pack furniture – a new service which is offered by Derwentside Homes.

Tenants will also get the chance to meet staff and representatives from other companies to discuss the services that are provided and to give feedback.

Derwentside Homes’ Chief Executive Geraldine Wilcox said: “Our annual conference is a great opportunity for tenants to meet members of staff and discuss the services we provide by giving us their views on how we can improve these to them.

“The conference is always well attended and we have changed the format of this year’s event following our tenants’ feedback from last year. I would encourage all tenants to come along and give us their views on how we can improve our services.”

Workshops will take place throughout the day and activities will include a creche, face painting, reiki and a professional make up artist. There is also a free prize draw for all tenants who visit the conference with an opportunity to win prizes including a flat screen TV which has been kindly donated by building contractor Frank Haslam Milan.
