Don’t forget!!
When moving out of a Derwentside Homes property and leaving your tenancy you must pay your rent up to date.
Tenants leaving Derwentside Homes properties owing money will still be pursued by Derwentside Homes for the debt.
Action can still be taken on former tenants who owe us debts, including:
- Court action – which will result in a money judgement which can prevent you from obtaining credit.
- The use of external tracing services and debt collection agencies.
When you give us notice to terminate your tenancy we will offer you advice on your rent account and housing benefit regulations, confirm your termination date and what needs to be paid up to that date.
You must ensure that all the rent you owe is paid up to the end of your tenancy.
