Money Advice Service Citizens Advice is involved in an exiting new project to deliver generic financial advice or ‘money guidance’ to consumers in the North East of England.

The money guidance Money Advice Service gives free, in-depth information, tailored to individuals’ circumstances and needs, on a whole range of money matters - 

  • Would you like to know how to get the best rates on borrowing money?
  • Are you struggling to pay your rent and other bills?
  • Do you need help managing on a tight budget or claiming all the benefits you’re entitled to?
  • Would you like to know how to get a better deal on your gas and electricity bills?
  • Would you like more information about insurance and getting the best deal?
  • Would you like to know about the best options for saving for you and your family?

If you’ve answered yes to any of the above questions or have another question about your money then the Money Advice Service can help you.

The service aims to help people feel confident, informed and able to make the financial decisions that are right for them by giving information about their options and personalised guidance. It differs from regulated financial advice in that it will not make recommendations for particular financial products or services and it is ‘sales free’ and impartial.

The “Money Advice Service” service is available:

The face to face service is only available in the North East and North West of England at the moment, but those outside the region can still get help by calling 0300 500 5000 or through the website.

CoupleThe Money Advice service offer advice and guidance to help you manage your finances if you are going through a divorce or seperation.

This includes a divorce and seperation calculator. This is the first interactive calculator of its kind as it helps people to draw up a budget to stay on top of their finances, as well as enabling them to get a useful estimate of how they could split their finances from one household to two. It has been created with help from several experts in this field, including Relate, Resolution, National Family Mediation, Families Need Fathers and the Family and Parenting Institute.
