What if I’m homeless but not in priority need?

Non Priority

If you are homeless but not in priority need the council still has a duty to try to help you by advising you about any available accommodation options. They will help you apply for accommodation through Durham County’s Key Options scheme.

You can also get in touch with other organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau or Shelter which can advise you about available emergency accommodation such as hostels in the region. These organisations can also help you with looking for more long term accommodation as well as putting you in touch with other agencies that can offer you support.
