Our newly named 'Sure Living' scheme offers an emergency response service to support individuals to stay in their own home by providing a response service in emergencies.
The service is a 24 hour, 365 days a year service available to tenants and residents within the Derwentside area.
All of Derwentside Homes independent living schemes are fitted with hard wired alarm systems and for homes outside of these schemes alarm systems can be installed at your convenience.
You may need help for a variety of reasons:
• If you fall.
• If you have a medical emergency.
• If you feel afraid or insecure.
In an emergency you activate your alarm by pressing the button on your pendant or pull the alarm cord. A member of staff at the alarm receiving centre will answer your alarm call. You do not need to use your telephone. If you can, please talk to a member of staff and explain what is wrong. If you aren’t able to talk or you
can’t hear the operator, don’t worry, help will be with you within 30 minutes.
Derwentside Homes emergency response service is available to help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and aims to respond to your call within 30 minutes. If we come to your home we will assess your situation and depending on the circumstances, we will take responsibility for contacting the emergency services if needed or your GP, family member or next of kin.
