Losing someone close to you can be a sad and often troublesome time; Derwentside Homes offers bereavement support to those who have lost their partner to help with the changes that this can bring.
Derwentside Homes Older Persons Services Manager can help you to cope with the practicalities of losing someone close such as downsizing your home, money troubles, moving into independent living accommodation and more.
If you have any queries or you are finding it difficult to manage since your loss. We can offer advice with the following: -
- Money Advice – are you entitled to any further help?
- Housing – Is your house too big for you to manage or would you like to downsize but are worried about the upheaval and paperwork involved.
- Aids and Adaptations – To help you stay in your own home longer.
- Care Packages – We can assess your needs and get in touch with care agencies, which again can help your live more independently in your own home. For more on Durham County Council's care packages click here.
