Schools
We know that young people know their homes and neighbourhoods better than anyone else. They can tell us how we can improve things to make the services we provide and the communities in which they live even better.
We believe that cultivating strong partnerships with schools will not only benefit Derwentside Homes but will also benefit the young people who will be able to contribute to their local community, develop their sense of belonging and pride for their local community and gain a sense of respect and understanding of groups and organisations within the community.
Derwentside Homes are working hard to strengthen our partnerships with local schools. We have involved local schools at Benfieldside, Catchgate and Dipton in our Community Rangers Project and our Eco Warrior Competition. We will keep this page updated with how the projects are progressing and report on the successes we achieve.
