North East Memories Celebrated at Festive Show
On Wednesday the 14th December 2011 Derwentside Homes Older Persons Services hosted a free festive show and lunch at Leadgate Community Centre. The event started with coffee and mince pies before a presentation about older persons services by Angela Hodgson, Older Persons Services Manager.
Beamish Museum kindly donated a Second World War reminiscence box for the day, there was a game of bingo and all 120 attendees enjoyed a hot soup and bread roll. The main event was a "Geordie Sketchbook", the show was a nostalgic and funny celebration of days gone by in the North East.
