“Make sure you pay to stay!” is the firm message we are sending to tenants this summer to make sure they don’t get left out in the cold by not paying their rent. Whilst we are clear that we will not tolerate non-payment, we also want to raise awareness among tenants of the advice and support available to those in genuine financial difficulty.
Against the background of the current economic climate and the rising cost of living, we want to remind tenants that paying their rent and protecting their home must be a top priority. The district wide campaign, backed by many tenants and the Derwentside Homes Tenants Forum, will highlight that non-payment is also potentially robbing others of the vital investment their homes need.
