Derwentside Homes increases reward for information on garage fires
Derwentsdie Homes has increased the reward money for information on a series of garage fires to £4,000 as we continue to fight anti social behaviour. Last year, vandals were responsible for a spate of garage arson attacks in recent months, costing Derwentside Homes more than £20,000 in damages and lost income.
The first arson attack took place in the Chester Road area of Stanley during the early hours of February 19 2009, destroying two garages. The incident was followed by three more arson attacks, again in the early hours of the morning, at East Street in Shield Row and Shakespeare Close in Stanley on March 10,
April 8 and April 11 2009.
Residents who have any information about the fires should contact either Derwentside Homes on 0800 7839295, Durham Police on 0345-60- 60-365 or the fire service on 01207 502912. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
