Can I alter or Improve my Home?

Hit House Derwentside Homes will be as flexible as possible in allowing you to make alterations or to improve your home. You have the right to carry out improvements but you must get our approval of your plans, in writing, to your estate manager beforehand.

You will need our permission, in writing, to carry out any of the following repairs:
  • carry out any alterations to the inside or outside of the property (this would include, wall panelling, tiling and installing fireplaces);
  • put up a fence;
  • create a hardstanding or drive access;
  • put up a garage, shed or greenhouse;
  • carry out any improvements to the property; or
  • put up a satellite dish over 80cms

We will not unreasonably withhold permission and we will be pleased to offer advice and help which in the longer term, may save you time and money. Any improvements will not affect your rent.
