Gas safety

Derwentside Homes offers free evening and weekend appointments, if needed to carry out your safety checks call us on FREEPHONE 0800 7839295 for more details.

Derwentside Homes has approximately 6,700 homes which have gas appliances to heat their homes.

All landlords have a duty under the Gas Safety installation and use regulations 1998 to ensure that all gas installations, pipework, gas appliances and flue systems owned by them are maintained in a safe condition.

This duty was placed on Landlords to protect tenants from suffering due to faulty or poorly maintained gas appliances. In order to comply with regulations landlords must ensure that they carry out this duty at intervals not more than 12 months.

We can not do this without your co-operation to allow us access to your home so please ensure the engineers have access. Derwentside Homes may obtain access through court and costs may be reclaimed.
