Before you contact us
- Please tell us if you have a house or a bungalow.
- Is the gutter or rainwater pipe overflowing, blocked or damaged?
- Can you identify the faulty part from the diagram above (for example, the gutter or downpipe)?
- Can you tell us what it is made of, for example, cast iron or plastic?
- Can you tell us what colour the guttering or rainwater pipe is?
Before you contact us
- If the problem is a blocked main drain and it is outside your property boundary (that is, in the street), you should contact Northumbrian Water.
- f a main drain is blocked in the boundary of your property and it is blocked due to something you have put down it (for example, cooking fat or nappies), we may charge you for the work we do.
If you need to contact us, please tell us the following:
- Is there flooding from a manhole nearby? Where is it?
- Is it a gully or manhole that is blocked? Do you know why it is blocked?
- If a manhole or gully cover is missing or loose, is it dangerous? Is the cover round or square?
