Breach of Tenancy

Most neighbours live happily and show tolerance to others; however, disputes do occasionally arise because of various reasons, which may include:
• Loud music • Car repairs • Foul and abusive language • Badly behaved visitors • Rubbish and litter • Untidy gardens • Graffiti • Violence or threats of violence • Illegal drug use in or around the home • Harassment • Racial Abuse • Vandalism • Noise nuisance from animals and pets (This is not an exhaustive list)

Working in Partnership
Derwentside Homes continue to work in partnership with Durham Constabulary and County Durham Fire and Rescue Service. This is a well developed partnership, which includes joint working initiatives, a Community Safety Operational Plan and regular meetings to discuss and resolve issues within Derwentside.
Council Services
Durham County Council's ASB team are available to contact and their Community Wardens cover some of our estates, further information is provided here.
If there is a problem
If you have a complaint about nuisance or antisocial behaviour, you should try to sort out the matter by discussing it carefully and tactfully with the person causing the nuisance. It is possible that the person does not even realise they, or a member of their family, are causing you a problem.
For further information on the above please contact us on Tel: 0800 7839295 or email us at tenancy.enforcement@derwentsidehomes.co.uk.
